Safe as Milk is the debut album by Captain Beefheart & his Magic Band, originally released in 1967. Although the playing time of the tracks rarely exceed three minutes Safe As Milk already contains many of those who will be the distinctive sound of a brand Captain Beefheart & His Magic Band, beginning with a deep and raspy voice and a background instrumental deliberately unable to circumscribe the impulses of the diaphragmatic leader of the group.
Each track has a different taste, a different tone, everything seems to make you imagine what the band wants to express.
It was definitely an album that marked the history and I never get tired of listening to.

Benché il minutaggio dei brani superi raramente i tre minuti Safe As Milk contiene già molti di quelli che saranno gli elementi distintivi del suono a marca Captain Beefheart & His Magic Band, a cominciare da una voce gracchiante e profonda e da un background strumentale volutamente incapace di circoscrivere gli impeti diaframmatici del leader del gruppo. Ogni traccia ha un sapore diverso, un tono diverso, tutto sembra di farti immaginare che cosa la band vuole esprimere. E' sicuramente un album che ha segnato la storia e che non mi stancherò mai di ascoltare.
