Hot Rats is the seventh album of American musician Frank Zappa published in the United States in 1969. Zappa was perpetually poised between rock, jazz, theater of the absurd and the most advanced music search, and in this album he can make it clear his disdain for the american conformism, and everything related to the contemporary society. First with the Mothers of Invention, and then with his solo albums he was able to make a unique contribution to the musical world, in fact in the world of musicians he was considered a king. Hot Rats focuses on instrumental jazz fusion compositions with long guitar solos, the music is very different from the first disc of Zappa with the Mothers, which included satirical comments mixed use of experimental music and sound montages. This was the first album of Frank Zappa to be recorded on a multitrack recorder to 16 tracks, and one of the first records ever to make use of this technology, which was then still in the prototype stage. Easter Everywhere is the second studio album by American psychedelic rock band The 13th Floor Elevators. Roky Erickson and the Elevators, strong in the beautiful experience of The Psychedelic Sounds of, on this record refine a more secure style, sometimes slightly more laid back and relaxed, and also reveal a general technique greatly improved and compact. All in all I can say is a more mature work, writing is like softened into a deeper awareness, sound system relegated to a state of "pre-eruption", so that even an ethereal cover (It's All Over Now) Baby Blue Bob Dylan knows how to carve out the space it deserves. Easter Everywhere is at least a disc indispensable for every lover of psychedelic rock and I hope that in the future may be re-evaluated and mentioned a little 'more often than has been done today.

Easter Everywhere è un disco quantomeno indispensabile per ogni amante del rock psichedelico e mi auguro che in futuro possa essere rivalutato e menzionato un po’ più spesso di quanto sia stato fatto sino ad oggi.

Ultimate Spinach is the 1968 self-titled debut album by Ultimate Spinach. Work overtime by the "Bosstown Sound" soft and slightly aggressive atmospheres. The peculiarity of this work is that it seems a journey through the dark,where mysterious creatures dictate you the way. In this album there is a constant use of Farfisa organ, as indeed in many American psychedelic bands of the period, reminiscent of Jefferson Airplane and the Grateful Dead. This finding is a psychedelic masterpiece containing tracks like "Ego Trip", composed under the influence of LSD, and the instrumental "Sacrifice of the Moon" that takes you somewhere else, the wonderful "(Ballad of the) Hip Death Goddess" sung by Barbara Hudson. Side two opens with "Reeling in Your Head" that defines the style of the complex and sophisticated Ultimate Spinach, description of nightmares and suffering of the leader Bruce-Douglas. The remarkable "Baroque # 1" which proposes inside "Section 43" by Country Joe and the Fish, and finally "Pamela", another piece almost instrumental. For me, a masterpiece!

In questo album c'è un uso costante dell'organo Farfisa , come del resto in tanti gruppi psichedelici americani del periodo,che ricorda Jefferson Airplane e Grateful Dead. Trout Mask Replica is the third album by Captain Beefheart and his Magic Band, released in June 1969. Incredible work, the emblem of free improvisation and more rampant monument to the genius of an artist. But, above all, a record that showed how the formal barriers of the "rock" could and should be broken. Listening to Trout Mask Replica is not simple. It 'a traumatic experience for all those who decide to approach the work of Don Van Vliet and his Magic Band. It is a work sprawling and surrealist, apparently without sense: the texts appear illogical, agreements contrast between them, the times appear to be random. It seems that all the musicians play, playing a different tune each other. Mask Replica proposes, without any pretense, a music to listen with another ear and other mental patterns. If you are a person who are looking for catchy music, Trout Mask Replica is not for you.

E’ un’esperienza traumatica per tutti coloro i quali decidono di avvicinarsi al lavoro di Don Van Vliet e la sua Magic Band. E’ un’opera tentacolare e surrealista, apparentemente senza senso: i testi appaiono illogici, gli accordi contrastano tra loro, i tempi sembrano casuali. Phallus Dei was the first album by German band Amon Düül II. The album, mostly instrumental, sets a new standard for "black music", and remains as one of the most hellish orgies in the history of rock music. The entire album was played in a random and naive tone that pales in comparison with the austere and calculated approach of the British progressive rock. But this claim is contradicted on appeal: this is a town of hippies who offer more spontaneous approach to rock jamming. Texts address with irreverence and irrationality sacred themes, philosophical, zany, initiatic, fairytale, biblical, anti-biblical, satanic, social and psychedelic, alternating between German, English-like language and incomprehensible. A thousand contradictory elements, hot and dangerous reaction, as in a magic cauldron stirred by mad alchemists intent to evoke the devil. Certainly not to sell his soul, but, more likely, to make us party and maybe a nice jam session.

Mille contraddittori elementi, bollenti e in pericolosa reazione, come in un calderone magico mescolato da folli alchimisti intenti a evocare il demonio. Non certo per vendersi l’anima, ma, più verosimilmente, per farci festa e magari una bella jam session.

In Search of the Lost Chord, released in 1968, is the third album by The Moody Blues. The theme of the album is the drug ... and listening to what comes out of the stereo speakers I can guess that the issue is of excellent quality with the result of great music. Before this album the music of the Moody Blues was characterized by the orchestra, but instead appear in this album mellotron, sitar, tabla and cello. After the intro of duty for a concept album starts Ride my see-saw, a majestic ride of guitars and choirs smashed in all possible rankings of the time.The rest of the album is pure genius. It's up to you to reveal it!

Procol Harum is the self-titled debut studio album by English rock band Procol Harum. The work is proposed immediately to the listener with a Hammond organ sound characterized by Fisher, from electric guitar Trower, from the piano of Brooker (vocalist and author of almost the entire repertoire) and especially by the use of classical music to compose songs from the sounds epic and poignant. Who does not remember "A Whiter Shade Of Pale" a gentle chorus, which draws a melancholy song and catchy at the same time, the beautiful "Homburg" an inspired marriage of R & B and pop rock classic cut. In conclusion, the album is enjoyable because it manages to combine pop melodies with arrangements typically redundant and majestic, and also confirms the Procol Harum as the founders of progressive rock that we love so much.

L'opera si propone subito all'ascoltatore con un sound caratterizzato dall'organo Hammond di Fisher, dalla chitarra elettrica di Trower, dal piano di Brooker (vocalist e autore di quasi tutto il repertorio) e soprattutto dall'utilizzo della musica classica per comporre brani dalle sonorità epiche e struggenti. What is there to say about this album? Too many words, too many terms to describe a masterpiece like this, a form of art which is so high that after so many years after its release still manages to impress the people, every time you listen to it seems to enter into another world, precisely in the court of the crimson king...The ambitious philosophy of Fripp takes shape in the early stages of the 21st Century Schizoid Man, where the succession of noises with a muscular riff and improvised passages seem to build a bridge between contemporary music, rock and jazz. After the cacophony of the previous track, is the immediate contrast to I Talk to the Wind, but that is a sweet song and quiet, where the image built by the flute has something exceptional. The third track on the album, Epitaph is distinguished by a greater use of mellotron. The texts take an accent prophetic and dystopian, perhaps the track most appreciated by fans of the crimson king that sends shivers. The B side opens with Moonchild, the longest track of the album, whose first part, which lasts about two and a half minutes, is titled The Dream, it is a ballad performed with guitar and mellotron, at the end of this first part space is left on guitar, vibraphone and percussion Robert Fripp, Ian McDonald and Michael Giles, in the second part entitled the Illusion. The album ends with The Court of the Crimson King, whose melody was written by Ian McDonald, the text is composed of four stanzas, separated by a section entirely instrumental entitled The Return of the Fire Witch, describing the court of the King Crimson, in which, in a medieval atmosphere, giving way various characters, such as "Black Queen" or the "Witch Fire".The song after about seven minutes seems to stop, but then continues through a revival called The Dance of the Puppets, before ending with an abrupt closure. For me the best album ever.

Cosa c'è da dire su questo album? Troppe parole, troppe espressioni per descrivere un capolavoro come questo, una forma di arte così alta che dopo tanti anni dalla sua uscita ancora riesce a stupire le persone, ogni volta che lo si ascolta sembra di entrare dentro un altro mondo, per l'appunto nella corte del re cremisi...  L'ambiziosa filosofia di Fripp prende forma dalle prime battute di 21st Century Schizoid Man, dove la successione di rumori con un riff muscolare e i passaggi più improvvisati sembrano costruire una sorta di ponte tra la musica contemporanea, il rock e il jazz. Terminata la cacofonia del brano precedente, immediato è il contrasto con I Talk to the Wind, che invece è una canzone dolce e tranquilla, dove l'immagine costruita dal flauto ha un qualcosa di eccezionale. La terza traccia dell'album, Epitaph si distingue per un maggior utilizzo del mellotron. I testi prendono un accento profetico e distopico, forse la traccia più apprezzata dai fan dei king crimson che fa venire i brividi.  Il lato B si apre con Moonchild, il brano più lungo dell'album, la cui prima parte, che dura circa due minuti e mezzo, è intitolata The Dream; si tratta una ballata eseguita con chitarra e mellotron; al termine di questa prima parte viene lasciato spazio alla chitarra, al vibrafono e alle percussioni di Robert Fripp, Ian McDonald e Michael Giles, nella seconda parte intitolata The Illusion. Valentyne Suite is a 1969 album by Colosseum.
The Colosseum descended from the roots of british-blues. The record, however, is detached from the canons of blues-rock and plays the first jazz-rock facade and in the second typically progressive. Not surprisingly Valentine Suite, the song that fills the entire B-side, not just from the name to the album, making it one of the first album of British progressive, but also established him among the cornerstones of making such an important part of the long history of rock. The disc also has another historical place: the first is labeled "Vertigo", one of the most important of its kind undergrond-progressive. I want to recommend to all of you to listen to this record, because it marked the successive generations of progressive.

Forever Changes is the third album by the American rock band Love a californian group led by enigmatic figure that is Arthur Lee, guitarist as well as sublime genius and inspired composer (also played for Hendrix at the beginning of his brief but brilliant career). But even if the reception given was pretty good, just then they understood the importance of this event, now rightly considered one of the masterpieces of rock history. Several tracks on the album will remain etched in the mind. Surely the band has managed to convey all their spirituality, and is now remembered by all of us...

Forever Changes è il terzo album del gruppo rock Love, un gruppo californiano capitanato da quell'enigmatica figura che è Arthur Lee, chitarrista sublime nonchè geniale e ispirato compositore ( ha suonato anche per Hendrix agli inizi della sua breve ma folgorante carriera). Ma anche se l'accoglienza riservata fu abbastanza buona, pochi allora capirono l'importanza di questa uscita, oggi giustamente considerata uno dei capolavori assoluti della storia del rock.  Numerosi pezzi dell'album ti rimangono impressi nella mente. Surrealistic Pillow is the second album by American psychedelic rock band Jefferson Airplane, released in April 1967. In the late 60's was a great success: Somebody to Love peaked at No. 5 singles charts, followed shortly after by White Rabbit who came up to position 8. The album, dragged by two hit, in August won third place in the ranking of best-selling LP according to Billboard, winning the gold disc and remaining on the charts for more than a year by selling a million and a half copies, first big success a band of the emerging music scene in San Francisco. Safe as Milk is the debut album by Captain Beefheart & his Magic Band, originally released in 1967. Although the playing time of the tracks rarely exceed three minutes Safe As Milk already contains many of those who will be the distinctive sound of a brand Captain Beefheart & His Magic Band, beginning with a deep and raspy voice and a background instrumental deliberately unable to circumscribe the impulses of the diaphragmatic leader of the group.
Each track has a different taste, a different tone, everything seems to make you imagine what the band wants to express.
It was definitely an album that marked the history and I never get tired of listening to.

Electric Music for the Mind and Body is Country Joe and the Fish's debut album. Released in April 1967 on the Vanguard label, it was one of the first psychedelic albums to come out of San Francisco. This is a highly enjoyable trip from start to finish. The restrained backdrop of distorted guitars, bluesy licks and inventive organ melodies throughout the music induce a wonderful sense of detached mellowness in the listener. The band went on to release another strong album in the form of 'I-Feel-Like-I'm-Fixin'-To-Die' but this debut probably stands as their finest moment. If you fancy some good old fashioned 60's psych to chill out to Country Joe is your man.

La band farà un altro album sulla scia di questo: I-Feel-Like-I'm-Fixin'-To-Die ma il debutto probabilmente è il loro miglior momento. Se avete voglia di vecchia e buona psichedelia anni 60 per rilassarvi, Country Joe è il vostro uomo.

Trip Thru Hell by C.A. Quintet was released in 1968 (someone says 1969) and is one of the best Psychedelic albums from the 60s, i listened to. I highly recommend to listen to this album,  because it is very rare, and it can open up new horizons to you. From the first track you'll understand the genius and the great sense of the time of this group from Minnesota!
P.S.  Listen to the interpretation of Cold Spider, it seems to really watch a spider, it's really expressive!

Trip Thru Hell dei C.A. Quintet è uscito nel 1968 ( qualcuno dice 1969) ed è uno dei migliori dischi del Rock Psichedelico anni 60 che ho ascoltato. Consiglio vivamente a tutti voi di ascoltare questo album, perchè è molto raro e ti può aprire nuovi orizzonti. Già dalla prima track capirete la genialità e il grande senso del tempo di questo gruppo del Minnesota!
P.S. Ascoltate anche l'interpretazione di Cold Spider, sembra veramente di stare a guardare un ragno, è molto espressivo!
