Caravan - Waterloo Lily

Waterloo Lily is a 1972 released album by Caravan on the Deram label. The Canterburian sound of the first albums starts to fade, but it takes over an incredible concentration of jazz rock, virtuosity and great flashes of genius of one of the founders of the canterbury scene. This was the first album of "the caravan" without the great David Sinclair, and the difference is felt than "In The Land of Gray and Pink", but it all goes to benefit to express all the qualities of two great musicians such as Richard Sinclair and Pye Hastings. We're still talking about a huge level disk even if the main songs, longer and more elaborate composition are compared with shorter tracks and more immediate approach. In the showcase of a prog listener this record is a must, maybe not everyone will agree with me but it is a truly exceptional disc that is worth savoring in all its aspects!

Waterloo Lily è un album del 1972 dei Caravan della etichetta Deram. Il suono canterburiano dei primi album inizia a svanire, ma subentra una concentrazione incredibile di jazz rock, virtuosità e grandi sprazzi di genialità di una delle band fondatrici della scena di Canterbury. Questo fu il primo album della caravana senza il grande David Sinclair, e la differenza si fa sentire rispetto a "In the Land of Grey and Pink, ma tutto questo va a giovare a far esprimere tutte le doti di due grandi musicisti come Richard Sinclair e Pye Hastings. Stiamo ancora parlando di un disco di livello enorme anche se ai brani principali, più lunghi e di più elaborata composizione, vengono affiancati brani più brevi e di più immediato approccio. Nella bacheca di un ascoltatore prog secondo me questo disco non può mancare, forse non tutti saranno d'accordo con me ma è un disco veramente eccezionale che vale la pena assaporare in tutti i suoi aspetti!
